Ballet Classes

Most people love to dance. It is a natural thing that we want to move when relating to music, like an ancient instinct within us takes over. There are endless dance forms and styles and some are a little more challenging than others because specific techniques needs to be applied in order to execute the steps correctly and with ease.

Ballet used to be a dance form that was mainly practiced by children and professionals but this is no longer the case. Today it has become a mainstream leisure activity and is enjoyed by all age groups. Apart from being fun and elevating it can offer a lot of physical benefits like improved posture, increased flexibility and better coordination of movement.

I teach ballet in the Cecchetti method which is a technique build on natural anatomical principles. Arms and head are balanced and follow the flow of movement in a natural way and in relation to gravity.

The classes on offer are open to beginners (some basic knowledge of ballet is recommended) as well as students with previous experience. We begin with exercises at the barre which prepares us for the combinations and dances that follow when moving into the center of the room. We will build a repertoire of steps that we can draw on for creating dance sequences.
